Material
We only use premium materials from select manufacturers. We only choose local or national suppliers whenever possible. Furthermore, our products undergo several quality checks during manufacturing – and the glasses are shipped only after a thorough inspection. All of our glasses are nickel-free.
Delivery times
Platypus reading glasses are hand-made and customised to your wishes once the order is received. The standard dioptres that you can order in our shop are normally shipped to you within three business days. We will separately inform you of the delivery date for custom orders. If you have a desired delivery date, such as on a birthday, feel free to provide it under “Comments” when placing your order.
Eyesight
You can configure and order your Platypus reading glasses with standard dioptres in our shop. To tailor your glasses to your individual eyesight, we will need your current eyesight correction numbers. You can find them in your eyeglass prescription.

Platypus glasses are available with high-quality Essilor® single-vision lenses in dioptres from +0.5 to +3.0 as standard. We will gladly check if we can manufacture your Platypus reading glasses according to your prescription values. To that end, you can send us your prescription information using the corresponding Form. The prescription information affects the size, thickness and cut of the lenses, which are essential for ensuring that the glasses and compact case match perfectly. Once we receive your information, we will review the technical feasibility and we will send you a response on feasibility, delivery time and costs as soon as possible.

14-day right of return:
You can customise your Platypus as you please. If you are not satisfied, you have 14 days from the order date to return your reading glasses – and we will gladly refund you the full amount.
Maintenance and glasses replacement service:
You can have your Platypus inspected at our factory in Ticino free of charge for 24 months from the date of purchase. If your eyesight changes, we ask that you have your glasses replaced in due time. Send us your dioptres or the new prescription and we will provide you with a quote.

Shipping
We will post your reading glasses free of charge and in a well-protected envelope. The shipment will be delivered to you on weekdays by Swiss Post in exchange for your signature and is insured during transport. Abroad we send our glasses by courier. Your reading glasses are insured during the entire transportation process. Should something happen and the glasses arrive damaged, please contact us immediately.
Returns
Returns to us should be packed in the original bubble envelope. Please contact us before returning the glasses to us. In order to take advantage of the 14-day right of return, the glasses must be returned undamaged and in their original packaging to us no later than 14 days after delivery.
